A former Walt Whitman High School teacher pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to rape charges stemming from his relationship with one of his 16-year-old female student, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Brian Dreher, 41, of Huntington Station, was arrested May 25, 2017 at his home after a Suffolk police Special Victims Section investigation. Authorities said the former social studies teacher committed the crimes sometime between Jan. 12, 2017-Feb. 15, 2017.

Dreher pleaded guilty in Suffolk County Court to several charges, including two counts of third-degree rape; three counts of third-degree criminal sexual act; five counts of sexual misconduct; third-degree sexual abuse; and endangering the welfare of a child; according to the DA’s office.

Dreher has been classified as a sex offender and his risk level will be determined at his sentencing, which is slated for March 14, officials said.
