Long Island native and producer, Scott Weil, is bringing his independent film “Once Upon A Superhero” to the Cult Cafe at the Cinema Arts Centre. The movie is about a homeless guy, who believes he is a superhero from the sun and the adventures Solar Faire gets up to while trying to figure out in Hollywood is worth saving. The Cult Cafe brings locals cult movie classics to an intimate setting for all to enjoy.

Eat some Instagram-worthy food

The Noteworthy Band lives up to its namesake – they can bring down any house with their broad range of music. See the full band, in concert, this Saturday at Finley’s and dance the night away. There is a $10 cover for the event. For more information on the band, check out Noteworthy.band.

Meet some local baymen
Sunday, April 8, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
at The Whaling Museum (279 Main St., Cold Spring Harbor)
Cost: Free with admission

The Whaling Museum and Education Center is hosting this weekend its second of three events in partnership with Long Island Traditions. These hands on events allow the local community to learn about Long Island’s boating and fishing traditions. You’ll meet local baymen from the north and south shores and learn how they harvest oysters, clams and so much more.

The annual chili cook off at The Lark is this Sunday.

Judge and eat some chili
Sunday, April 8, 1-5 p.m.
at The Lark Pub and Grub (93 Larkfield Road, East Northport)
Cost: $10 donation

The 6th Annual Chili Cook Off at The Lark will not only serve up chili for all those who attend to try, but also raise money for the League For Animal Protection. A suggested $10 donation will be collected at the door. Along with plenty of servings of chili there will be raffles and prizes.
