Huntington Resident Celebrates 107th Birthday
/Huntington resident Dorothy D’Ambrose celebrated her 107th birthday on March 8.
D’Ambrose, a town resident for just over three years, was joined at Huntington Hills Center for Health & Rehabilitation by family, friends and Huntington Supervisor Chad Lupinacci.
Before Huntington, D’Ambrose spent time in Nassau and Brooklyn.
Lupinacci said D’Ambrose shared some of her life experiences with him.
“There are a lot of things we do have in common,” said Lupinacci, who presented D’Ambrose a proclamation from the town board.
“Her relatives came from Italy... Reading about her stories of her grandmother and her mother with the raviolis sounded very similar to my family, and also one of the traditions that I’ve kept up that I was reading that you have kept up also are the Christmas Eve fish dinners.”
