Resident Dies After Woodbury Road Crash
/A Huntington Station man is dead after his car crashed into a tree on Woodbury Road in Huntington on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.
Fifty-nine-year-old Robert Manigaulte crashed his 2005 Chrysler Town and Country while driving southbound on Woodbury Road, south of Carley Avenue, according to police. Prior to the crash, Manigaulte experienced a “medical emergency,” which is believed to have caused him to swerve the car across Woodbury Road and into a tree.
Manigaulte was brought to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad, but he was later pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said on Wednesday the nature of the medical event was uncertain and would be determined by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
Police said the Chrysler was impounded for a safety check and that the investigation is continuing.
