After a six-week closure, Huntington’s Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse opened once again – a development that its owners and customers formally celebrated at its “grand opening" on July 1!

The restaurant had been closed since May 17, when a fire caused serious damage to the establishment. A renovation followed, and Black and Blue was able to open again on June 27.

In addition to showing off a new look, Black and Blue's grand opening on July 1 brought a band to the venue, as well as half-priced drinks from 4-7 p.m.

Fire officials said the fire started in the kitchen duct-work and spread upward. The restaurant also received summonses for a non-working fire suppression system and failing to obtain a building permit before doing renovations.

“Everything’s done,” Aloe said of repairs to the establishment.
