3 Injured In 2-Car Crash On New Year’s Eve
/Three people were injured in a two-car crash in Dix Hills on New Year’s Eve, fire officials said.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Old Country Road at around 3:45 p.m.
The Dix Hills Fire Department responded and firefighters used heavy rescue extrication tools to remove one of the victims from the crash.
The Dix Hills Rescue Squad brought the three people hurt in the crash to Huntington and/or Southside hospitals, fire officials said.
Under the direction of Assistant Chief Joe Williamson, 35 firefighters and rescue personnel were dispatched with three heavy rescue trucks, three ambulances, first responder and paramedic units.
