The Greenlawn Civic Association and the Town of Huntington hosted the first ever Greenlawn Community Day in Coral Park on Saturday, Oct. 14.

A grey morning gave way to a beautiful sunny afternoon that provided the perfect atmosphere for all in attendance, according to the Greenlawn Civic Associations co-chair for events and fundraising Rachael Risinger.

“It was a great event that brought together community members from north and south Greenlawn,” Risinger said.

The event saw participation from community groups including the Harborfields Council of PTAs, Harborfields High School Student Government, local Girl Scout Troop 1734 and a very busy table hosted by the Harborfields Public Library.

“It was a really fun atmosphere with lots of smiles from the kids; people were just really happy to be there,” Risinger said.

The activities at the event were provided free of charge, and Risinger said the civic association plans to learn from the experience to make the second annual event an even bigger success next year.
