: Paramount officials announced Tuesday that they’re planning to open a venue in Baltimore, part of a plan to open multiple other venues in the future.

Huntington village’s Paramount theater has plans to expand.

Officials announced Tuesday plans to open a second Paramount location in Baltimore, but they’re not stopping there.

Adam Ellis, The Paramount’s director of marketing, said The Paramount is hoping to expand with several locations in the future, enabling the brand to “deliver additional markets well-managed venues.”

Ellis said the hope is to eventually book bands and acts for more than one show at multiple Paramount venues so that “when it comes to booking shows… it’s a little more one-stop shopping.”

It appears the first non-Huntington venture will sprout up in Baltimore, although Ellis could not give a timetable for the construction and opening process. He did say, however, that the new venue will be located near M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens football team.

Ellis also said that the Baltimore venue will be larger than the Huntington village venue, which has a capacity of 1,573.

“We want to put the entertainment world on notice that The Paramount is working hard on bringing another major market into our fold and plan to add to our overall reach by delivering even more concert fans to our brand,” Ellis said. “We have the talent and experience to deliver the best in live entertainment to arts and music lovers in the Baltimore area.”

The Paramount’s ownership group has partnered with Maryland-based development firm Caves Valley Partners to construct the Baltimore venue.

Paramount officials also announced a new Android smartphone app that details upcoming shows and features a dynamic push service that deploys video notifications that play like a movie in the user’s widget icon on their smartphones. The app is available for free on the Google Play Store and can be found by searching “ParamountNY.”

The Paramount partnered with Manhattan-based technology firm Appelago to produce the app.
