Unofficial Results Pending Formal Reporting From The Board of Elections
/Congressional Races for Long Island:
Congressman Steve Israel wins reelection with 52% of the vote
Congressman Peter King wins reelection with greater than a 63% of the vote’
The upset of the night is that Timothy Bishop will not be returning to Congress in 2015. He Republican challenger Lee Zeldin defeated Bishop with 54% of the vote.
In the NYS Assembly, Huntington will continue to be served by Assemblymen Raia (Unopposed) and Lupinacci (gathering 63% of the vote).
In the NYS Senate, Both Senators Marcellino (62%) and Flanagan (69%) will return.
Legislator John Kennedy will serve as the Suffolk County Comptroller (with 53% of the vote). He will oversee the merger of the Treasurer’s position into the Comptroller’s position since proposition 4 passed.
The Town of Huntington District Court Judge, 3rd District, will be Steve Hackeling with greater than 19% of the vote, Patricia Grant Flynn with greater than 18% of the vote and Jim Matthews will take the 3rd seat on the bench with about 18% of the vote.
