Police Identify Body Found in Greenlawn Park

The body of 18-year-old Estiven Abrego Gomez, which suffered “significant lacerations,” was found in Greenlawn Park early Saturday morning.

Suffolk police have identified the man who was found dead in Greenlawn Park on Saturday.

Estiven Abrego Gomez, 18, of Greenlawn, suffered “significant lacerations,” according to police.

Gomez’ body was found by a man who was walking through the park early that morning, police said. The man waved down a passing driver who called 911 at around 7:11 a.m.

Second Precinct police responded and the scene remained active through the day.

Police said Gomez’ body was brought to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

Greenlawn Park, which is located between Pulaski Road, Cuba Hill Road and Broadway Greenlawn, is often used for Little League games. There’s also a skate park on the property.
