A former president of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce and a Woodbury man were arrested last week by Nassau police on several drug charges.

Nassau police said an investigation led to execution of a search warrant at a Fairhaven Boulevard apartment in Woodbury at around 5:45 p.m., Dec. 26. The search yielded 4 grams of crystal methamphetamine valued at $5,000; along with a “quantity of heroin, cocaine, gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid and various drug paraphernalia,” police said in a news release.

Residents of the apartment, 64-year-old Dennis Sneden and 29-year-old Nicholas Hollis, were arrested and charged in connection with the drugs, police said.

Sneden, who formerly served as Huntington Chamber president from 1997-2005, faces charges of both second- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and four counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned Dec. 27 at First District Court in Hempstead. Sneden was released Saturday on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, according to court records.

His attorney, Mineola-based Michael Lawrence Soshnick, declined to comment Wednesday.

Hollis, who was also arraigned Dec. 27, is charged with both second- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Neither attorney nor further court information for Hollis was immediately available at deadline.
