Suffolk County police officers responded to a domestic incident Wednesday afternoon and arrested one Huntington Station man.

A Huntington Station man who allegedly brandished kitchen knives at two police officers was tased and arrested at East 20th Street in Huntington Station Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

The incident came after officers responded to a domestic incident at 4:20 p.m. June 17, police said in a news release.

When Second Precinct Officers Joseph Reilly and Michael Lavrovsky arrived, they were confronted by Kevin Jaime, 21, who police said was holding a kitchen knife in each hand.

Officials said that Jaime approached the officers “in a threatening manner” and ignored commands to drop the knives. Police then “tased” Jaime, who was taken to Huntington Hospital after the incident.

Jaime was charged with menacing a police officer and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

A police spokesperson said Thursday afternoon that Jaime remains in the hospital and will be arraigned at a later date.
