/PD: Four Men Use Fake Money To Buy Gift Cards From Pharmacies
Four men are wanted for using counterfeit money late last year to buy gift cards from two pharmacies, one in Huntington Station, the other in Melville, Suffolk police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify the men.
The four men, pictured to the right, used counterfeit $20 bills to buy gift cards totaling $1,180 from the CVS at 2 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, on Dec. 22, 2017, police said.
Two days later, two of the men used counterfeit $20 bills to purchase $420 in “Green Dot” cards from the Rite Aid at 325 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Person Struck By Train, Service Delayed During Morning Commute
A train struck and killed an unauthorized person on the tracks east of the Huntington branch of the Long Island Rail Road early Tuesday morning.
The LIRR announced via Twitter at 5:22 a.m. that service on the route was delayed due to police activity. It later confirmed that an “unauthorized person on the tracks [was] struck by a train east of Huntington Station.”
During the suspended service, riders were asked to utilize the Ronkonkoma or Montauk branches.
Regular service from the Huntington and Port Jefferson branches was restored around 7:30 a.m.
Men Stole Pain Meds From Pharmacy In Greenlawn, Cops Say
Suffolk police are trying to identify and locate the three men they say stole pain meds from a Greenlawn pharmacy last month.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section said “three black men” walked into the CVS at 89 Broadway on Jan. 15, 2:15 p.m. and stole various bottles of pain medication.
Police said one of the men, not pictured, was wearing a vintage “Forty Niners” jacket and a distinctive t-shirt with a red “crown” or “hand” on the back.

PD: Man Stole DVR From Melville Business
Suffolk police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man they say stole a DVR from a Melville business last month.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives said the man, pictured, entered Freedom Abstract at 105 Maxess Road sometime between Jan. 7- 9 to steal the electronic.

Suffolk Cops Seek Man Wanted In Attempted Break-In
In an attempted break-in, a man tried to kick a side door of an Elwood residence last month, according to Suffolk police, who are trying to identify and locate the suspect.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Second Precinct Crime Section officers said the man, pictured, walked up to the front door of a Timber Ridge Drive residence at around 1:15 p.m., Jan. 16 to see if anyone was home. He then attempted to break-in, damaging the side door, according to police.
Police described the man as black and wearing all black.
