A Huntington native was among the four Boston College students injured in an acid attack in France over the weekend.

Charlotte Kaufman, of Huntington, was visiting Marseille, France with her classmates early Sunday, when a 41-year-old French woman outside the Saint-Charles train station sprayed acid solution on them.

The other students have been identified as Courtney Siverling, Michelle Krug and Kelsey Kosten.

All four students are in their early 20s and were treated at Hôpital de la Timone in Marseille and released the same day, according to Jack Dunn, a Boston College spokesman.

Kaufman, Siverling and Krug are juniors at Boston College and are enrolled in the college’s Paris program; and junior Kosten is a student at the Boston College-affiliated Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.

“All of them are doing well, which is of great relief to their families and the BC community,” Dunn said.

The students plan to remain in Europe for their studies, according to a press release issued by Boston College on Monday.

They also offered forgiveness to the woman, their attacker, who is mentally ill, according to Boston College officials.

“We’re very proud of Charlotte and her fellow BC students for the gracious way they in which [they] have handled themselves through this ordeal,” Dunn added.

French police arrested the woman and have stated that the incident is not being considered terrorism.
