Two men are in critical condition following separate shootings in the Town of Huntington last weekend, Suffolk police said.
In the first incident, police say they responded at 9:17 a.m. Friday to a report of a gunshot at 46 Melrose Road in Dix Hills and determined that Louis Speaight, 27, of Norfolk, Virginia, had been shot in the chest after answering the door of the home.
Speaight was transported to Southside Hospital by Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue, where he was listed in critical condition following surgery.
Then, at 1:41 a.m. Saturday, Second Precinct police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Lenox Road and E. 4th Street in Huntington Station. They located a male in the street who had multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Jesus Eduardo Giron-Bautista, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital via the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.
Both men are in critical condition, and both investigations are continuing.
