Suffolk County COVID Case Tracker Now Available

Thank you to Suffolk County Legislator Dr. William Spencer for providing the lick to Suffolk County COVID-19 tracking site. Spencer feels that an educated public is the best way to defeat this pandemic.

Spencer said Suffolk County and Huntington Town officials reacted immediately when seeing the spike in Huntington Station, predominantly among the Hispanic community. As of last night there were 408 reported cases at Huntington Station, which is second only to Brentwood as a hot spot in this outbreak. Huntington Station represents approximately 28% of the 1463 reported cases in Huntington. As of 11:35 on 4/2, 20 reported deaths in the town related to COVID-19.

Spencer went on to explain that Supervisor Lupinacci has already implemented various efforts to help in the Huntington Station area including bilingual announcements as well as possibly looking at a testing center in the station area.

Two of the twenty COVID-19 related deaths where attendees at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ball at the kickoff of the Huntington St. Patrick's Day Parade weekend. This event and parade were held before the other parades and events started to cancel, since it was one of the first parades to step off this March.
