State Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R-South Huntington) has launched a campaign for New York’s Third Congressional District.

State Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci has filed to start a Congressional campaign committee, a step toward an official run for the soon-to-be vacant congressional seat held by Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington), who announced last week he will not seek reelection.

“After consulting community members, my campaign team and a few trusted advisors, I determined it was time to take a deeper look at the 2016 race for NY-03,” Lupinacci (R-South Huntington) stated in a release.

Third Congressional District covers the entirety of Huntington, other portions of Suffolk, and parts of Nassau and Queens.

The assemblyman has also launched a campaign website (Lupinacci4Congress.com).

Lupinacci added, “There are serious issues facing our country and I think that my elected experience at the State and local level will prove invaluable in helping to get the country headed in the right direction.”
