VAUXHALL is readying to replace the former Char at 26 Clinton St. in Huntington.

A group of restaurateurs behind The Leaky Lifeboat in Seaford, ZA Late Night Pizza in Rockville Centre and Amityville Music Hall will soon be taking over 26 Clinton St. in Huntington village, the space formerly occupied by Char. Partners Eric Finneran, Salvatore Mignano, of Huntington, and Dan Valentino plan to launch VAUXHALL, a bar with a menu that’s still in the works, by mid-November. The space can hold 39 seats indoors and another 18 outside. Finneran said the group loves Huntington and everything about the area, and they think they have a nice shot at doing well. The building’s owner, Louis Block, said he had a lot of interest in the space, but chose the trio because of their professionalism. “These guys kind of stood out,” he said. How did the team come up with the name? Finneran said Valentino was flipping through records and came across Morrissey’s “VauxHall and I”. “We are very music-centric, and it kind of stuck,” Finneran said.
