Comedian Nathan Macintosh will be performing in Cinema Arts Center’s Sky Room Cafe this Friday. With his rant-filled, quick-witted style, Macintosh keeps audiences on their toes, never knowing where he will take the conversation. He’s recently been on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and previously performed on “Conan,” at Gotham Comedy Live. Macintosh also has his own comedy special on The Comedy Network, and an iTunes-chart-topping podcast, “Positive Anger.” Tickets for Friday’s show are available at Cinemaartscenter.org.

2. Melted Crayon Workshop with playtime, dinner (ages 3+)

Let your little one explore their imagination at Tumbling Tunes in East Northport during its Melted Crayon Workshop on Saturday. Each child will get to pick a silhouette to melt their crayons over before peeling it away to reveal their own piece of art. Kids can choose from designs of superhero logos, princess silhouettes or they can pick their initials. As well, playtime and dinner will be included for all children. 3. “Living Planetarium” Project 2018

See the stars, and maybe even get a glimpse at the planets, in Northport Village with the “Living Planetarium” Project. Each weekend, weather permitting, from the western end of Main Street at Woodbine Avenue, stargazers can peek through the telescope and learn about the night sky. 4. “It’s Only A Play”

This weekend marks the last chance to see “It’s Only A Play,” by Terrence McNally, at Star Playhouse (74 Hauppauge Road, Commack). There are two showings – one of both Saturday and Sunday – of the show, which revolves around an opening night party for a Broadway play, whose cast and producers are eagerly anticipating reviews. Paint Nite at The Big Kahuna this Sunday will focus on creating this, "Moonlit Aurora Lake."
