Whitman Shops Orders Up Italian Spice
Foodies, rejoice. The Italian restaurant chain Brio Tuscan Grille will open the doors to its Walt Whitman Shops location in one week.
The self-proclaimed “affordable” Italian restaurant will offer lunch and dinner, as well as a weekend brunch until 3 p.m., after the official opening on Oct. 10.
The Ohio-based Bravo/Brio Restaurant group operates over 100 restaurants throughout the country. The Walt Whitman Shops location will be its first in Long Island. It is situated in the Bloomingdales wing of the mall.
Many of the menu items are Tuscan influenced. The restaurant specializes in pasta, grilled and oven-roasted steaks, chops and fish as well as salads, flatbreads and bruschetta dishes.
The 7,528 square-foot restaurant will seat approximately 200 customers and will also have a fully stocked bar with a bar menu.
The Italian-inspired restaurant is one of several new dining destinations that will open at the revamped Walt Whitman Shops, formerly the Walt Whitman Mall, this year. Zin Burger, a wine and burger bar, and Cups, a frozen yogurt shop, opened up at the Shops late this summer while P.F. Chang’s Asian fusion restaurant is slated to open by the end of 2014.
Brio Tuscan Grill will become one several food anchors at the mall, joining the pre-existing Cheesecake Factory, Panera Bread, Legal Sea Foods and California Pizza Kitchen.
