Following input from experts and a year-long string of community forums hosted across New York, a state Assembly task force has released a report that recommends a comprehensive approach to dealing with New York’s heroin epidemic.

Suffolk police are investigating a single-car crash that killed two people early this morning in Fort Salonga.

Suffolk Detective Nicholas Guerrero, who was critically injured by a driver who fled a traffic stop in 2014, was one of several police officials to be honored during the Jan. 20 Huntington Matters meeting. Guerrero received the Distinguished Service and Personal Sacrifice Award.
