The Fantasy Coach

Every week, managers of Fantasy Football address multiple decisions to their rosters. My goal is to take my 12 years of Fantasy sports experience and present an abstract view on Fantasy news. Check back every week for “The Fantasy Coach” as I provide a player at each position that could surprise (“Flames”) or put tears in your eyes (“Lames”).

Week 12 Flames

QB: Eli Manning vs. DAL

Just like his team Eli has been on fire – a stark difference from when he left much to be desired. He always plays high-scoring games against the ’Boys; pick him up off of waivers and confidently deploy.

RB: Ben Tate vs. JAX

When it comes to playing the Jaguars I could recommend any, even a youth running back who plays in your local peewee. I’ve been harsh on the cats, it’s unfortunate but true; Tate will have holes all day to run hard through.

WR: Marques Colston @ ATL

The Falcons were torched by the lowly Bucs, and their defense has been one in major flux. Colston has been solid the past two weeks, as have the Saints who are reaching their peak.

TE: Delanie Walker @ OAK

Delanie has never been a high fantasy pick, but he has been gold with new QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Whether the game is close or a major route, look for Delanie to bail you out.

DEF: Green Bay vs. MIN

The Vikings are going back to Josh Freeman at QB, which makes this game even extra juicy. Their run defense has always been strong; in your fantasy lineup is where they belong.

Week 12 Lames

QB: Andrew Luck @ ARI

Arizona’s defense is more talented than most know, and lately the Colts offense hasn’t been the greatest show. Bruce Arians knows Andrew Luck well and should keep him on lock like a penitentiary cell.

RB: DeMarco Murray @ NYG

No defense has been better against the run, so why do you think starting Murray will be fun? At this point, you cannot leave him on your bench, but don’t be surprised if his stats leave a stench.

WR: Antonio Brown @ CLE

Joe Haden is the league’s best corner defender and is all over wide receivers like he’s a crazy next-door neighbor. Brown is the Steelers’ most dynamic threat, but he hasn’t seen Haden play this well just yet.

TE:  Charles Clay vs. CAR

The Dolphins’ offensive line is amongst the league’s worst and facing the Panthers will make your fantasy bubble burst. Clay has been a surprise down in sunny South Beach, but to expect much from him would be a very high reach.

DEF:  Dallas @ NYG

These games always happen to be high scoring, and the defenses tend to keep the action from being boring. The Giants have been much better with turning over the ball, so stay away from Dallas like shopping Sundays at the mall.
