TD Banks On Late 2015 Opening

TD Bank plans to make itself even more accessible to customers with the opening of a proposed Greenlawn location in 2015.

Attorneys from the Melville-based firm Brown and Altman appeared in front of the Huntington Planning Board Aug. 21 to discuss plans for a proposed 460 Pulaski Road location.

According to Kate Toy, communications associate and TD spokeswoman, the Greenlawn location would open in late 2015, but she could not provide a specific date.

Toy said the bank’s architects are still in the early stages of the project and are developing renderings of what the new structure would look like.

However, renderings of a brick structure presented to the planning board were not met with approval. The planning board requested that the architects change their proposed design to better align with the character of the residential neighborhood.

A construction company hired by the bank, Toy said, will raze and demolish the existing structure at the Pulaski and Cuba Hill Road site to build a LEED-certified TD Bank.

The proposed location will likely have several drive-thru lanes and landscaping that must fit with the character of the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Toy said the company, which opened a Huntington location in August and plans to open another location in Elwood in 2016, continues to make New York a focus. The opening of a Greenlawn location will “make ourselves available to our customers in that market,” she said.
