The wing is king for Super Bowl Sunday, and all around town, restaurants are offering special deals.

For Valentine’s Day, he’s offering a delectable array of tarts, pies and delicate confections; for Super Bowl XLVIII, there’s vegetarian chili and clam chowder, soups by the quart, sourdough soup bowls, dips and – what else? Football cakes. Call ahead and get an order in now.

DOUBLE DUTY:  Meanwhile, Ruvo (63 Broadway, Greenlawn 631-261-7700 www.ruvorestaurant.com) will also be doing double-duty for the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. They’re offering Super Bowl packages starting at $55 for 100 spicy Buffalo wings; heroes start at $70 for a 3-footer, and dinner packages start at $135 for a party of 8 to 12. A few weeks from now, however, they’ll be gearing up for more romantic endeavors with a special menu for sharing with your valentine.

STEP UP YOUR SUPER BOWL: Speaking of the Super Bowl, if you’re looking to expand your wing horizons a bit, what’s a foodie to do? Look to two locations in Huntington village, that’s what. Ideal Cheese & Wine Café (308 Main St., Huntington village 631-923-3434) is running a Super Bowl special on their website – buy $50 of the good stuff before shipping and handling before Feb. 2, and save 20 percent. At the shop, you can pre-order 24 wings, two drinks and two sides of Pomme Frites for about $30. Check for slider specials, too. The Chicken Coop (44 Gerard St., Huntington village 631-423-2667) also has a two-dozen wing special with sides starting at $34.95. Or, go with a two-foot long Eddie Bang Bang sandwich, 12 parmesan creamed spinach croquettes with your wings for $49.95.
